Diadora's rich running heritage has been their calling card since they made their way back to the forefront of the footwear scene. While we've seen plenty of collaborations on their part, nothing compares to the massive undertaking that they have embarked on in order to celebrate the 2016 Olympics in Rio De Janeiro, Brazil.
The Intrepid model is being re-released for the first time and seven shops have been chosen to give their take on Olympic Glory. First up we get a look at the Kith's version of the shoe and Ronnie Fieg and crew decided to go in a direction that is not only a nod to the brand and the running category but also serves as an indicator of its time. Bold and bright colors mix with earthy and neutral tones which harken back to the running and track clubs of the 80's while a bold "1988" on the tongue gives us the time stamp that places the shoe in its origin period.
As has become the Kith way, the details are incredibly endless. Pebbled nubuck and pigskin suede makeup the uppers while different colored tongue and heel pulls help ease the shoe on. Multicolored laces, color blocked outsoles and asymmetrical branding on the insole help close out the shoe in amazing fashion. Once again Ronnie shows off why color combinations and materials are the things he can hang his hat on, in a way that not many can claim to.
The Kith X Diadora Intrepid release this Saturday via KithNYC.Com beginning at 11 AM with an MSRP of $180. Make sure to be quick as these will surely fly off the shelves and only 500 pairs were produced.
