Earlier this week it was confirmed that LeBron James will feature in an upcoming Space Jam sequel, and now Kobe Bryant has signed a movie deal with Sports Illustrated to star in an animated movie titled "Dear Basketball". The shortly retired Lakers legend will star in an upcoming movie directed by Glen Keane (animator behind Aladdin, Little Mermaid, and Beauty and the Beast) and feature music direction by John Williams.
The film, which is named after the Poem Kobe posted last November when announcing his retirement, will be the perfect tribute to someone who NBA fans have loved for so long. Kobe stated "Working with Sport Illustrated on this special project is a dream come true".
"Dear Basketball" will release exclusively on Sports Illustrated's digital platforms along with videos and interviews with Kobe Bryant.
