With old roots in Boston and new roots in NYC, Concepts has tied its two locations by paying homage to two of the greatest MLB franchises in history, which also happen to be one of the game's biggest rivalries. With the MLB season underway next week, CNCPTS has unveiled the first look at their upcoming "Rivalry Pack" with New Balance.
The Boston Red Sox inspired New Balance 998 gets a rusty red and grey suede color blocking on the upper. It's not the traditional "Red Sox" colorway, but it works. It has the authentic Fenway Park vibe. Meanwhile, the "Yankees" inspired colorway gets dressed in a mint-green suede upper with grey underlays accents which sits atop of a white midsole. Both pairs will come in special packaging (as pictured above) and are "Made in the USA".
Many people are wondering right now...why mint green? How does that resemble the New York Yankees? The iconic interlocking Yankees logo was first designed by Tiffany & Co. and was inspired by a medal given to a NYC police officer who had been shot in the line of duty. That's where the mint green with grey underlays comes into play.
The CNCPTS x New Balance "Rivalry Pack" will drop on April 9th, 2016. They will be available in-store at the CNCPTS Boston and NYC location as well as online at CNCPTS.com
