Long before restocks were expected and sort of the norm, Philadelphia based retailer VILLA had already mastered that part of the sneaker game. Their #Refresh restock program was ahead of its time and they seem to have another trick up their sleeve as their Perfect Week is back once again and as hard as it may be, they aim to top last year's version of the same event. Let's get into the details of The Perfect Week and the stories behind our favorite products that are being rolled out for this once a year experience. Check them out, in no particular order.
They kick things off with these exclusive to VILLA "Missing Rings" Starter jackets. These three jackets celebrate the moments in time for the Minnesota Vikings, The Cleveland Browns and the Buffalo Bills. Three teams that were equipped to win the whole thing but just could not get over the hump. While Carter, Moss and Culpepper were racking up points, they just couldn't get it done for one reason or another. The Buffalo Bills went to FOUR STRAIGHT Super Bowls and either luck was not on their side or they ran into a powerhouse squad. The "Dawg Pound" Cleveland Browns ran into the beginnings of John Elway's clutch legend and were on the receiving end of "The Drive" in the 1987 AFC title game. The Missing Rings pack takes fans back to the best of times for their squads and if you happen to root for these teams, these Starter jackets are a must. Just check those sweet arm patches. Next up is the VILLA X WALE X Timberland 6 inch boot. Perfectly named "The Gift Box", this boot is inspired by the season of giving and what gift giving means to people, no matter how big or small. "The Gift Box" aims to bring a new, fashionable twist on the fall/winter classic Timberland "Constructs" that are a must have. This triple threat collab is set to release on Novermber 24th, right in time for all to look their best at the dinner table on Thanksgiving. Next up we have the highly anticipated VILLA X Starter "Infamous" pack. This set of five jackets sets out to celebrate three game changing squads that set out to play the game but along the way, ended up changing the culture of the nation. VILLA chose the University of Michigan Wolverines, the University of Nevada-Las Vegas (UNLV) Running Rebels and The University of Miami Hurricanes. Whether you rooted for Larry Johnson, Greg Anthony, Stacey Augmon or Anderson Hunt, as a collective Jerry Tarkanian's squad shifted how we looked at college basketball. Just recall their thrashing of Duke by 30 points for the NCAA Championship in 1990. When it comes to the Maize and Blue of UM you only need two words: Fab Five. This squad not only brought a fast paced, in your face game to the court, these guys were stylish, smart and most importantly, stuck together, making them one of the best squads we'll ever see put together and something we'll probably never see again. Just remember that they brought us baggy shorts, black socks, popularized the Nike Huaraches, Nike Air Force Max (Barkley) and the Nike Air Max Uptempo 2. Last but not least we get the University of Miami Hurricanes, better known as The U. The only football team to crack this list, The U brought swagger to the college gridiron and an unparalleled athletic ability that even if you didn't root for them, you were most certainly tuning into their games. They brought an attention and awareness to the city of Miami as well as the plight of some of their players, many who came from the bottom and found the Hurricanes as their way out. Some of our favorite players came from The U including Ed Reed, Ray Lewis, Michael Irving, Jeremy Shockey, Andre Jonhson, Antrell Rolle, Jessie Armstead, Warren Sapp and Jim Kelly just to name a few.
